Top ten languages

I read that the top ten languages are:

Chinese, English, Hindi, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, Indonesian, Urdu, Bengali and Portuguese.

Several important languages like German, French or Japanese are not in the top ten group.

So, my question is the next. It is really important to be in the top ten languages or not?

I don't know if it's important or not, probably not, because even the second most spoken languages (Spanish and Chinese) are far away in terms of importance with respect to English. Anyways it's always better to be in the top ten than not being.
