Arabic and Hebrew stem from the same family, of course. Moreover Hebrew, nowadays, is less gutturalized then it used to be in ancient times - which closely related itself with both Phoenician and Moabite. Even the Hebrew alphabet shows striking similarities with that of Arabic one, you could say both are cousins.
