Is true that it's customary to lift your leg up when a gentleman kisses you? My friend who lives in England says it is, but she's not English herself, so I don't really trust her on this. I'm planning on moving to England one day, and since I will need to procure a husband to secure my stay in that country, I will have to know how an English lady behaves and try to be better than them all. What country are you from? Girls used to lift one of the legs when kissing, mainly for photo ops etc, but this is rarely done anymore. Infact, I have never seen it done outside of commercials and old photographs. Of course, I'm an unwelcome American but I would suspect English girls have dropped this practice as well.

Laura, she was asking about English girls. That is an American girl from the 1940's with a sailor home from WWII. You can see Time Square behind them--a very famous picture now. I have not seen any girls actually lift their leg like that, but it's not like I actively pursue or attempt to kiss that many girls myself. None of the men I have kissed have lifted their leg, however. On the other hand, Edward tech is correct. Language acquisition skills are usually and, in my opinion, should be taught along with culture. This fits under culture.
