Fick die Hähne!
A German girl told me that in a chat room.

What does this German phrase mean?
Okay, first, were you having "pleasant" chat? I don't like to be vulgar, so I'll try to suggest to you nicely that this is not exactly polite.
Ficken means to have sexual relations. If I don't know what something means, I don't run to Antimoon to ask, I go to a slang dictionary first. I think this would be a good thing for you to do too unless you just posted it for fun here.
Sorry, here's the other part.
Der Hahn is a cock, as in rooster. That's a plural form with the umlaut.
The Vietnamese called American soldiers Roosters (I believe) during the Vietnam Conflict, does it refer to that? Or is this an actual German saying? (as in English's random animal-curses ex. bullshit or horse's ass)
It doesn't take much to figure out the other "closer to English" translation. I didn't want to be vulgar, so I didn't spell it out. I have seen this before, but I have never heard it.
<<"Hähne " , as in "hens"? >>
Yes. But the german word 'Hahn' is masculine (i.e. "rooster"). German for 'hen' is "Henne" |
