Hello. Since I can speak all three languages (Serbian, Bosnian, and Croatian are all mutually intelligible= in other words same shit!!!, Macedonian and Slovenian). So Serbian, Bosnian an Croatian are really the same shit the only difference is where you live and what are your political affiliations or religion. Basically Serbian and Croatian are more common to be expressed as a language because Bosnian was made up recently since they felt deprived not having a language of their own. Soon we'll Have Monte Negro-an to. So lets call it BHS now.
Slovenian and Macedonian are not so intelligible a few words are the same but that doesn't mean a lot. Slovenian is very specific because it has singular plural and also "dvojina" (double) which is very confusing sometimes. Macedonian on the other hand is also specific because it has only one case
and Slovenian has six and the character are also different Slovenian (latinica- Latin alphabet) Macedonian (ćirilica-kirilica - Cyrillic alphabet) and they are very different to. But Macedonian and Bulgarian are amazingly similar so if you know Macedonian you can easily learn Bulgarian.
Slovenian, BHS (Serbian...) and Macedonian are very different but since they are all Slavic there are some same words that don't mean the same thing usually. Anyway if I were you I would go for Serbian, Bosnian, Croatian because they are more useful. But I should point out that the "new Croatian" language is coming. They are making up new words witch are strange and not even they know what it means or how to say it because they want to separate it from Serbian since basically All three are Serbian. It's really a stupid thing when you look at it this way, but people will start bullshitinlieg you that I am lying or that there was the egg before the fish and other nonsense. Learn Russian at least you will know what language it is for sure. :)
malo morgen is a mix of two languages it means "yeah right!"(not believing or disagreeing) malo (little BHS) morgen (German means tomorrow) so it is a phrase...
Look if there is someone that can prove to me that American English and Australian English are completely different then I'll believe that Croatian an Serbian are different as well. Look I lived through all Ex-YU and don't sell that crap to me. Tell that to a Japanese dude or someone that isn't from around here you get it!!!
Few years ago a Croatian film distributor chose to translate Serbian film "Rane", because "Serbian and Croatian are very different languages".
They equipped the Serbian movie with Croatian newspeak subs. Let me tell you, the film is quite funny but the audience laughed at the subs even more.
They had to remove them and play the movie as it is and never they had the courage to do that again.
