Hi there, came across this forum and found it quite odd! When you say you want to "learn" a British accent, do you mean be able to immitate it? Well there are hundreds of different British accents, obviously those in England are completely different to those in Scotland, Wales etc. But you generally have cockney accents (like Handy Andy), posh accents (Hugh Grant, the queen etc......people with money/privately educated), then you have your Northern accents (Carol Smilie) which are kind of transalantic....hard to describe, but again, they differ all over the North. But down in the South we generally pronounce words like "last" - "Larst", "fast" - "farst" and so on, whereas up north they tend to pronounce words how they're written...I'm being awfully confusing, I know!
