Merely PHONOLOGICALLY speakingly, what are the qualities that differ US accent from UK accent (excluding word stress differences)?

The vowels are slightly different... There are a variety of dialects in the US and even more in the UK, are you just talking about standards or some accents in particular?

Rhoticity is the biggest and most noticeable difference.
