That's funny, I'm a native Spanish speaker and I can read what you're saying just fine.
Which language is more important, French or Spanish?
I'm a Portuguese speaker, and except for certain words, for the most part I have no trouble understanding written French either.
I'd say the only major Romance language that is beyond my reach of understanding is Romanian. I can catch certain words, but the idea as a whole most of the time escapes me.

As a native speaker of Romanian I feel rather advantaged, as I can understand rather much of any Romance language.

Spanish and Portuguese are absolutely both the third world's languages!
German is the first world's powerful language, as well as Japanese and French.
Note: (Although French is also widely spoken in poor African, French is mainly spoken in romantic and powerful France, Belgium, as well as in part of Switzerland and Canada.)

Spain and Portugal most certainly do not constitute the 'third world'; they are developed Western countries.

Spoken?
You reached that conclusion after comparing the extremely rich phonetic system of the Portuguese language with the Castilian phonetic system?
