Sorry for the typo. "magnazines" should be "magazines"

By "English magazines" do you mean magazines from England (or the UK), or magazines written in English.

BTW: In my case, the answers are no and yes.

English magazines? If you mean actual magazines from England, I do read the Economist, but it's the American issues (which I don't think differ much, if at all, from the British).

As far as English-language magazines, I used to read Guitar World and, every now and then, Rolling Stone.

Everybody reads magazines of some kind or another. You can hardly go to the hairdressing salon without scanning a whole range of mags, can you? I go to a Unisex hairdressers, so I can have a choice of sporting mags, motor mags, sporting mags, trains and buses mags, sporting mags and sporting mags. As it's Unisex I can scan girly mags and read what devious ways females use to entrap the male of the species - just for fun as I am just not interested in biting their bait anyway, or just look though all things which fascinate women.

I read most journalistic ones from cover to cover, I read several on current affairs - (including political) - mostly UK and Scotland based, naturally. I read loads on sport and outdoor pursuits, and various theatrical/drama/musical theatre publications, natural history (again mostly UK), geographical (mostly UK), the National Trust (Scotland as well as UK general)...plus anything else that draws my attention for whatever reason.

Scientific American is the best kind of reading. Despite of its somewhat scary name it talks in plain language about complicated things ranging from astronomy to psychology. Newsweek or Time are also quite entertaining if you don't get bored with politics or economy. Since they mostly discuss recent issues, the reader always has some sort of context and no special knowledge or experience is needed to read them.
National Geographic is sometimes worth reading too but it isn't my favorite - too many pictures and very little text.

I read magazines about photogpraphy and all that magazines with gossips People , In touch and blah blah. My favorite heroes are Britney and Paris.
cppgeek: In fact I look only at the pictures at National geographic, because I'm interested in the photographies.

I read the New Yorker. Its texts are of high literary quality and instructive with its wide-ranging topics!

Time, Newsweek (from time to time), CNN Traveler...and all sorts of porno mags ;-)

I would actually recommend porno mags, or at least "soft" porno mags. They have lots of conversational writing and good pics to keep you entertained.

what a bright idea, Guest. I have never seen more smart suggestion than yours, you know. In fact it's disgusting. If you wish to go to soft porno sites why don't you try something like xxx at the beginning and you don't need to come here to share your stuff. OK.
Guest   Mon Jun 23, 2008 5:56 pm GMT
I don't do anything "soft".
So, thanks Laura for your suggestion about xxx. OK ;-)

You know uncle Freud has an explanation about everything especially of this one. Somewhere it's written 'what is in the man brain' as he discovered that people do art and invent so many things just to avoid the second thought about sex. But those theories are so old fashioned..Anyways. Diferent people diferent ideals. To be honest nowadays magazines are just written by journalists who were well paid. On first page what we see: Britney and Paris and all. Who are our heroes? Have you ever had such thought. Who just excanged the values of society with new 'heroes' ot the day? Why there is not such magazines which tell us the truth about the real life? As it is...
