Does Brazilian Portuguese sound less euphoniously than Argentine Spanish?
Does Br.Portuguese sound euphoniously than Spanish?
I just want to compare Argentine Spanish with Brazilian Portuguese, NOT to compare European Spanish with European Portuguese.
What do you mean?
Euphonic?
São Paulo accent of Braz. Portuguese has the same Italian intonation like Argentinian Spanish, Rio accent is different, Bahia & Espírito Santo accents are more relaxed and French-sounding. Southern accents are very harsh, Castillian sounding. Too many accents in Brazil to generalize.

Brazilian Portuguese sounds more Spanish/Italian, more Mediterranean, more "Southern Europe". More clearly articulated, more sonorous. Much less outlandish than Portugal's Portuguese, which has a definite and unexpected Slavic taste.
In some way, Brazilian Portuguese would fit better in the Iberian peninsula... (No offence intended to the citizens of Portugal)

Most newscasters use a mix of São Paulo and Rio Portuguese, but that mix is so similar to the real accent used in Brazilian Capital - Brasília.
Famous anchorwoman Ana Paulo Padrão is from Brasília, and she uses her native accent on Brazilian news.
Some features of Rio accent (like pronouncing sh instead of s) or São Paulo Portuguese (using American-sounding r) is not allowed on national news

As usual a load of nonsense! São Paulo accent has no Italian intonation. You just have to listen to old Italian immigrants living in São Paulo. After twenty or thirty years they still do not get a brazilian accent or intonation, but their children do.
