Is it allowed to "see" TV instead of "watch" when what you are actually doing is watching a TV show?
can TV only be watched?
Sometimes -- as in "I saw that on TV" or "Did you see that episode of Boston Legal yesterday?" or "Did you see Married with Children last night?"
But you wouldn't say, "Last night I made some popcorn and sat down to see TV." That would be weird. You can either see or watch the shows, but you generally just watch the actual television set. If you were to say, "Hey, have you seen the TV lately?" I would surmise that it is now missing from the stand....

You watch and then you see. Or should it be the other way round? Discuss.
