Is there another way of pronouncing it? I'm very sure I heard it pronounced without the first 'r' in the movie Wanted.

Maybe it was mispronounced in the movie?

It's never pronounced without the first R. There really aren't any variations in how it's pronounced that I can think of.

Frah-TUHN-itty....usual English English way (unofficial way of putting it). I really can't think of any way you can pronounce it without enunciating the first "r"! We in Scotland actually roll both "r's". The geat big Brotherhood of Man, the benevolent Brotherhood of Man!.....oh aren't you pleased to be, in this Fraternity......the Great Big Brotherhood of Man?

Wouldn't it be nice if all such brethren thought on those lines but life is beset with pipe dreams is it not?

It's possible that the movie intentionally mispronounced it in an attempt at humor.

I normally pronounce "fraternity" as [fʁəˈtʰʁ̩̃ːɨɾ̥iː] unless I am speaking carefully, where then I pronounce "fraternity" as [fʁəˈtʰʁ̩̃ːnɨɾ̥iː].
