French spelling in "t" and "th"

dunno why not spelling "teatre",but "theatre",
why not "te", but "the"
why "tete" but not "thete"?

If you an E1Ler, French spelling is a piece of cake -- you just have to remember how to spell each word. The difficulties in French lie elsewhere.

French's spelling is very etymology-based. I think they tried to keep their spelling for some words as close as they could to the Latin.
