Natural Language/Grammar-based

How do you learn? Do you favor Krashen? Do you "pick up a language" or do you study its grammar first? Do both?

I've started to see some texts with more emphasis on grammar as distinct from the "Spanish In a Sec" type books. Is this a trend toward the older way of teaching languages?

Do people who learn without emphasis on grammar get to as high a level as those who hit the books in the traditional way?

Good questions. I am trying to learn a new language and i too am interested in a system that is easier. So far I learned english for the first years studying its grammar. But when it came down to communicating it was a nightmare for the first years.
