Mr. Obama recently (source: internet) gave the opinion that his accent in Spanish is good, but he only knows (about?) fifteen words.
His accent in Arabic is "first-class" according to one writer, Nicholas Kristoff (I believe). That doesn't mean he is fluent. I have no idea.
He doesn't speak German as well as Merkel (he claims).
The few words I've heard him say in French do not sound like a French person would say them, but perhaps he was trying to make a point about 'mericans who can only say "Merci beaucoup".
He knows at least some phrases in Indonesian.
I'm happy that he encourages language-learning, but since this doesn't seem to be a priority for him either, it's kind of like an older brother who says "Do as I say, not as I do."
