In my accent, the /r/ is pronounced when at the end of a word as in ''car'' /kja:r/ and not pronounced before a consonant as in ''card'' /ka:d/. This doesn't happen when there's a morpheme boundary, so ''cars'' is /kja:rz/.
Does anyone else here have anything similar in their accent? I'm from Jamaica, by the way.
