There are many reasons why someone might not like 'English classes'. However, if you are to learn English or any other foreign language, you have to start somewhere.
How do native speakers learn English?
They learn English:
from their parents
from their peers
They go to School
from radio and TV
and later from books and newspapers.
I feel that any class is 'motivational'. It is a discipline. It is something that you do, in order to learn English.
There may be many things wrong with the class, but it is structured time devoted to that subject.
Often teachers are inclined to lose their temper if you ask them, "Why are we learning this?"
They tend to take it as a personal insult, that in some way you are challenging their validity.
But surely, the reason is often not apparent at the time, but will become apparent years later.
For example: Here is a class on YouTube. The person who is teaching it, obviously thinks that what he is teaching is important.
