But reckless comes from another root altogether: reck "to take care, take heed" from OE reccan "to take heed" (recceleas = reckless)
The only thing is "reck" is not common, and is even archaic, so "reckless" is the only noten case of it. Similar to "ruthless", "listless", etc.
I don't know of any "reckful", but it would mean "deliberate, careful"
