What accent do you really hate? and which one you love?
Well, Thea, that's about the only thing a 23-year-old male of any nationality would be good for, really. They still aren't full grown at that age....not mentally, anyway!
Don't tell your kids to put on a fake accent -- just tell them to be themselves and behave politely, the way you (presumably) raised them.

Well it was a movie about Europeans so you wouldn't necessarily expect many characters from outside of Europe. Some of us do just fine, thank you very much :) I'm a 22-year old male and my mental capabilities are at least sufficient enough to perform a challlenging full-time job day-in day-out, balance my checkbook/pay my bills, and make food for myself.

Take no notice of what these females say......they've been the same throughout history with their barbed tongues which often do more harm than good ultimately. There is a Freudian definition for this but I won't state it in here. Adam was blameless until Eve (a mere spare rib and afterthought) came onto the scene .....and Original Sin was born and the humble apple took on a new significance. As a well balanced (mentally and physically) ....mature enough to know what's what in life..... well nourished... well adapated.....self sufficient.....reasonably well remunerated (but still having a wee bit of bother with London prices) in a job I enjoy doing in a high pressure but satisfying environment ....amazingly content and happy......reasonably intelligent 24 year old MALE who enjoys work as much as sport and having "a blast" in my social life at the same time to use an American term. Female slurs on our character as young males matter not a jot to me. Being much more naturally attuned to the guys than to the girls probably has a strong bearing on my complete indifference and which is why I often feel sorry for my str8 m8s when things go pear shaped for them...which they often do. You all misunderstand me. ;) There's nothing WRONG with having a 23-year-old boytoy. Looks and stamina at that age, can't complain about that. But for a real relationship? Ooooh no! I'm a decade older.
I would say the same about 23-year-old girls, too. The knife cuts both ways.
OK I see it from your angle, Uriel. Personally I took it as yet another slur against the much maligned young male who is torn to shreds simply for being a young male, and portrayed on a lot of these TV programs which only women seem to watch and which are controlled by women with femininised men acting in acordance with the instructions of the controlling women and who delight in demonising men at every turn and show them to be scumbags responsible for everything that's wrong with society while all the women are seen as nice wee virtuous victims all hapless and helpless in the face of male horribleness (ok not a word but I like the sound of it) and who are never seen as perpetrators of anything naughty or not nice or who can never be seen as blameworthy....only the guys can be that. In reality, how true is that for God' sake?
OK rant over.....as I said in my earlier post, was standing side by side with all those poor straight males who actually allow themselves to be subjected to all the feminist controlled censure and humiliation on national TV in programs like fembot Jeremy Kyle and feminist extraordinaire Trisha Goddard. OK I'm a year older but same difference and as I say, I don't consider myself as the way described...on the contrary. Furthermore, let me say this......23 year old males are good for plenty, take it from me! Hey while we're on this touchy topic......23 year old males, and many a whole lot younger, are certainly "good enough" to be sent to desert shite holes far from home by their loopy Presidents and their equally loopy Prime Ministers....to be killed "in the line of duty" in nasty wars. They're certainly good enough for that are they not? As I say, rant over.....let peace ensue again.
I am certainly a much grown up soul. I am capable of performing many tasks that are beyond my capacity. Though I am helpless when it comes to girls. They put us into trance and force use to do crazy and stupid things for them. I say to all younger guys to keep away from them if they want to have a successful career.

Probably many of the native English speakers participating in this forum are concentrating in this thread…I would like then to know of how much their postings could reflect the actual daily english spoken if this forum would be a face-to-face conversation between ordinary people.
When you write here, do you try to make your piece looks neater or more sophisticated in a way or another? Or do you tend to use some special words for that purpose, if such an intention exists at all? In other words, if I do “copy” from here then “paste” outside, will I look odd or having kind of formality in my chatting? That’s really important for me to know, being an English learner who wants to speak like natives in every aspects of the language. Thanks.
I don't think you can compare the two types of communication....the written form in these threads...and the ordinary "live" verbals we all conduct "in the Great Outside". I doubt that anybody speaks in quite the same way as they write in here.....one is much more spontaneous than the other.
