neither nor

Should it be 'nor' or 'or'?
"The aircraft was in neither take-off nor landing position."

It should be "nor", but you'll hear "or" used pretty often in this situation.

You'll also hear the sentence rephrased as: "The aircraft wasn't in either take-off or landing position."
