Supermemo 98 - to make one word bold an Q&A issue

Hello everyone :)
I want to learn with Supermemo encouraged by Antimoon website.
I use Supermemo 98 but encountered some problems.
First of all, when I create the sentence items I cannot change the font appearence of one chosen word.

For example when I create the sentence: "Ellis Island is a symbol of Amercia's immigrant heritage." I cannot make "heritage" bold because the whole sentence changes into bold.

How to deal with this problem?

Another issue, I have heard about Q&A creating items from Paweł Wimmer ebook. Creating items in Notepad program as a plain text and importing them to Supermemo. How to make items in Notepad to look like formatting in Supermemo (I mean to underline, bold items, to make enters)?

How have you done it?
I've tried many times and it still doesn't work for me.
The only thing that appears is Task Manager.
Please help.
