The danger of this sort of Topic is that it can quite easily sound very racist. I have read both of Obama's autobiographies. He uses types of American English in his autobiographies that are different to the transatlantic English that I am used to.

Obama deliberately exposed himself to black culture by working with poor people in Chicago. When he talks about 'nationalism' in his autobiography; he is talking about 'the nation of Islam', a militant Black American movement.

He is able to speak to Black Americans, his natural electorate, with an authentic black voice as well as speaking in more standard English to white Americans and the wider world. So you could say that Obama is bilingual.

He is undoubtedly a very clever man.

Generally yes, I could tell that Obama was black by the sound of his voice. Its not overtly strong, but he does have subtle AAVE influences.
