Sounds kind of New England-like, but I can't put my finger on why...

new england-like?? i dont hear anything remotely new england-ish
sounds like a "standard" american accent
There's nothing "New England" about that. Sounds like a "Standard" American accent.
No trace of New England there. No trace of any particular region that I can identify.
For all you non-Americans who get worked up when we talk about "not having an accent" -- this is the type we're talking about. One with no discernible regional allegiance. He could be living in any part of the US from Savannah to Denver (not all Southerners have Southern accents!) Yes, it's country-specific; we get that he's got an American accent and isn't Jamaican or South African. But within the context of the US, he has no particular accent. For comparison, this is what a real New England accent sounds like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RbK4cL3QSc0&feature=related Which is not to say that they all sound like Bostonians; this one's from Noo Ampsha -- sorry, New Hampshire: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_pVhT10s2E And just because New Englanders get lumped together regionally doesn't mean they have to like each other much (I had forgotten all about the term "Masshole"): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=asmto0ihXa4&feature=related
It sounds like an accent from Back East (east of Mississippi) like central Ohio or Vermont.
It does not sound Western.
He could be from Florida too, but not from Cali, Colorado or Arizona, he just does not sound Western, sorry...
>>It sounds like an accent from Back East (east of Mississippi) <<
i dont hear any markers for any accents east of the Mississippi...but none for any accents west of it either. very unregional sounding
I don't know if he's just nervous, but there are some things that he pronounces weirdly. For instance, he manages to make "predators" sound like a one syllable word.
Definitely a classic midwestern. A sample I heard from columbus Ohio sounds exactly like that.

I would guess central Ohio. That is where I am from originally and it sounds like most of the guys I went to high school with.
