American presidents speaking foreign languages

Even before looking at that list, I could definitely see Jefferson and some of the early Presidents and founding fathers being able to speak French, Latin, or Greek or something. And I'm pretty sure the Garfield thing is true, also. I've heard that in some history classes. Oh and Woodrow Wilson was a scholarly type of person too, so I'm not surprised he knew some. I've heard about FDR knowing some German too. But the Hoover speaking Mandarin Chinese sounds like a bit of a stretch lol.
