Dutch often go on about how terrible their literature is, so I was looking for examples of it and Vondel was described to me by one Dutchman as Holland's equivalent of Shakespear, however, I can't actually find any of his works translated into English.
Is this because no one is interested in Dutch playrights, or simply because on an international level Vondel can't compete with the likes of Shakespear and Cervantes?
