Listen to voice samples & let me know what you think

Hello,

I've recorded the same text twice with a different accent each time.

I found the text there:

http://web.ku.edu/~idea/readings/comma.htm (very good site!)

Here are the links to the voice samples:

http://www.2shared.com/audio/sRi840bo/TEXT_ACCENT_2.html

Could you tell me what you think? What do you think is my real accent?

Hugh.

Hi,

Apparently you wanted to sound american in the first one; u kinda do, except for minor mistakes. With that voice, you could be some Jewish upper class guy from Manhattan.

In the second one u sound British. I guess that's ur real accent.

First one sounds Yankee and second one sounds English, I take it you're an Englishman.

You didnt sound gay.
That makes you a fucking filthy bigot who should be publicly executed.

@ Phoebs & Boston. Thanx for your replies. Actually, I'm not a native speaker, hence my question. Can you hear features of foreign tongue?

@ Boston, when you say "yankee", what do you mean exactly? New England?

@ Damian from Blue oyster b.
I'm not sure I get your message. Did you find I sounded gay or not? My question is serious. I'm not offended anyway.

Thanks to the people who took time to listen n' answer.

People who read this thread, please leave your comments. I'll tell you where I come from if you're interested, but I'd like to know what you think before.

People should really answer your questions instead of debating on whether or not America is the center of the world. This forum is not the place for such stupid arguments. This site really should be moderated.

You've got a slight accent I can't identify

I detected a slight Hong Kong accent. Your native language is probably Cantonese. Am I right?

這網站提供學習廣東話(粵語)的資料,以現代香港年青一輩及海外華僑所用的日常會話為基礎。

I'm afraid not. And I have no idea what the previous line means.
