Origins of the English people
Duh... wishful conclusion but it's just an anecdote. He was simply trying to say "godfather". A Frenchman trying say an English word doesn't make that word part of the French vocabulary.
The French equivalent is parrain.
Brennus : je ne prétends pas connaître l'ensemble du vocabulaire français, mais je n'ai **JAMAIS** lu ni entendu le mot *<godfader>. Inconnu au bataillon... Je n'ai pas l'impression que *<godfather> soit français non plus, d'ailleurs.
>>I'm sure that this is the word recognized by the Académie Française.<<
The Academy is not relevant here since the usage among French speakers is simply "le parrain", not "the godfather". In the context of the film, "Zeu Godfazeur" might be understood by some film buffs in France but it wouldn't go far beyond that.
qu'est ce que ça veut dire "godfader" ?
En français on dit "parrain". On parle des parrains de la drogue, etc. jamais des "godfaders".
Même le film "godfader" en Français s'appelle "le Parrain".
Brennus: "I'm sure that this [parrain] is the word recognized by the Académie Française"
