Please explain me this sentence.
"A maximum of two additional pages can be used subject to a charge of $100/page."
My understanding, according to your quotation, is as follows:
[They, whoever they are] operate by a standard number of pages, whose number you should already know. However, if you need to exceed the page limit, you may use no more than two extra pages, and each of the extra pages will cost you $100. One additional page = $100 ($100/page = $100 per page) Two additional pages= $200 The phrase "subject to" may be replaced by the word "at."
I agree with Bever's explaination. but I am not really understand why they use the word maximum to discribe this situation.
Actually, I hope you can post some difficult sentences and some one will explain them all the time. Meanwhile, others can learn something from it.
