I can't find any audio samples of the Boston Brahmin accent. Does anyone know of any webpages that have realplayer or something samples?
Where can I hear the Boston Brahmin accent?
Well, what does he sound like? Compared to the average American accent.
Charles Winchester the III on M*A*S*H was supposed to be a rich, upper-class snob from Boston -- maybe you should check out his accent.
For a more normal Boston accent, you can rent Good Will Hunting. Both Matt Damon and Ben Affleck were originally from south Boston, and used that accent in the film.

Anyone seen that 80s film "Trading Places" with Dan Ackroyd and Eddie Murphy? There are a couple of old guys in that with rather posh American accents.

Well, Frasier's American, of course, but Kelsey Grammer overpronounces his T's and has a very deliberate way of pronouncing everything else. And the character's show was originally a spin-off of Cheers, which was set in Boston, so I was thinking that might be a reasonable facsimile of a Boston Brahmin accent.
Gentlemen, is there a difference between the Bostonian Brahmins' accent and that of 'old-money' New Yorkers(Locust Valley Lockjaw)?
If there is a perceivable difference, which version is more like Received Pronounciation?
