Past Tense Problem

Which one is correct?
He knew I like ice cream.
He knew I liked ice cream.

Cos I always like ice cream, not just at that time 'he knew', should I put 'like' into present tense or past tense?

Others like

He said he was Jackson.
He said he is Jackson.

It doesn't matter if you continue to like ice cream; it's still as Brennus said -- "He knew I liked ice cream." ;)
