"El libro es mío" is a correct sentence
Is, "El libro es de mi" wrong? or maybe correct but unusual?
Yes, "El libro es mío" is the correct way.
The other is wrong if it's intended to give the same idea and although the words are correctly placed the sense of the sentece is diferent and incomplete. It could be: "El libro es de mi hermano." or "The book belongs to my brother." "El libro es de yo" is incorrect (and funny) as well.
Perhaps Aldo is right, but note that
"El libro es de él" "El libro es de nosotros" "El libro es de ella" are all correct and grammatical sentences. |
