Weird NC accent

Part of North Carolina is reputed to speak a dialect very close to British English. I've found a sample. While she does have some UK characteristics,e.g. regular dipthongization (rather than monophongization of long-I) to me she sounds like a mixture of Tidewater, hillbilly, and English.

What do you think?

It doesn't sound terribly weird to me. My mother has told me for years that some people in the South speak "Elizabethan" English, but I've never heard it.

She sounds almost like Coastal? Southern or "country" to me. Oh, I suppose she sounds a little different, but I wouldn't take her for someone from England.

She actually sounds a little someone who grew up around Lake Cumberland in Kentucky.
