what does "I got busted" mean here?

From VOA, this guys wife questioned him that

"are those came from China? I don't use things from China"
"and I laughed, cuz I got busted"

what does busted here mean?

"Did those come from Japan--did you steal them? Don't laugh, 'cause the cops are about to bust you."

Busted means to get caught doing something you shouldn't be doing.
