Do "a" in "above" pronunce same to "o" in "above" or "a" in "about", my friend told they're same.

ya they rsame actually i came to know that they pronounce these sorta words like

how about "a" in "facility"? same to "o" in "love"?

For me, the "a"s in "above", "about", and "facility", as well as the "o" in "love" are all the same, all being /@/ (realized as [@] when unstressed, as [V] when stressed).
