i think that this sentence makes sense. However, try as much as possible to avoid using ambiguous sentences because they are a bit difficult to understand by a layman.

What I thought was wrong with it Uriel, is that 'oil-rich' describes residents. I thought the author was trying to describe Alaska with that adjective, not the residents. But now I see that there is notthing wrong with using that adjective to describe the residents
