Take it easy hispanic dung beetles, please!!!!
French and English are obviously the most important languages. I read that the 2 most spoken languages in every Continent are the next: North America: English & French Latin America: Portuguese Europe: Russian, German, French, and English Africa: FrenchThanks Middle East: Arabic Asia: Chinese, Hindi and Japanese Pacific: English and French English & French is in 5 Continents Russian 2 Continents Arabic, Chinese, Hindi, Japanese and Portuguese, 1 continent. Spanish is NOWHERE!! Sorry, but if we are stricter, Spanish is spoken by hardly 20 million people around the world. So, Spanishh is never spoken international language important nowhere. But that everybody know...

Hi, clever the demon possesed!
There are several tricks in your post! Chinese is an important language, one of the UNO languages, but it is not official in all international organizations. Hindi. The problem of Hindi is that English is also official in India. So, the diplomatic and economic relations are in English. At least at the moment. Anyway, both are ASIATIC languages. It is better to compare the same group of languages (European in this case) because the reality of Asiatic languages is very different. European languages: there is another trick in your post. You want to compare only French and Spanish. It is better to add English too!! That is more real!!! Fast comparison (English / Spanish / French): -Which is the language of science? English, Russian, German, French and Italian -Which is the language of diplomacy? English and French -Which is the language of technology? English, Russian, German, and French So, the real problem of Spanish is it the never had importance in all these fields. French is FAR more important than Spanish in science? Who cares.? Not all important books and reviews are in English but in Russian, German, and French too, stupid and idiot hispanic dung beetle. Just because there is no scientific publication in Spanish because of the zero achievements of Spanish speakers and now you're dragging other groups of people on the status where Spanish speaking world rightfully belong. Spanish will soon be replaced by Catalan, Basque, Galician, Asturian, Aragonese, and Leonese in Spain; Quechua and Aymara in Bolivia, Peru, and Ecuador; Nahuatl and English in Mexico; Quiche in Guatemala; Portunhol in Uruguay; Italian in Argentina; Borriqueño and English in Puerto Rico; English in Panama (20% speak as their firs language rather than Spanish) and Costa Rica; The rest are fast evolving into Afrikaans like language and will soon declare linguistic indepenfence like the way they speak it as in the word "jo instead of "yo" Who want to study the "in theory second most important language" if there is one much important? That is the problem of Spanish. You know that. In the Philippines, Marianas, Guam, Equatorial Guinea and Western Sahara. All of these countries now shifted to English and French. French remains official in many countries. In the near future, Anglophone Africa will switch to French as what is happening to Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. That's the famous globalization and this time English doesn't work here. In this context, only languages very spoken, in a big area, where English and French is not very studied can be really important: Chinese, Spanish, Arabic, Russian, etc. but never Spanish.
Sorry, but if we are stricter, Spanish is spoken by hardly 100,000 people in Spain. Besides, French is now the spoken language, here.

<< Sorry but the ancient Greeks also accomplished a lot, but they aren't even here any more. Times change. The leaders are usurped. We can recognise the achievements of French, but little good that does them!
Besides, all important science and technology publications are in English. There are more in French than in Spanish - that's true. But the people who read these are not likely to be leaders so who cares about them. If it's not in English, it's not good - a general rule in the global scientific knowledge community. >> Sorry but by the time Spanish follows the path of its mother languge which is Latin and disintigrates into numerous languages like Afrikaans, it will be never be remembered like Greek and Latin because its speakers never contributed any to science, technolgy, medicine, arts, literature and so on and so forth.
<< Hi, Retarded!
Yes, French can be spoken by 15 million people more in Europe. But that is not too much important. In all the World, Spanish is spoken by 500 million people, and French only by 250 million, including all African people that can say "Bonjour". Who wins...? >> Hi, Autistic! French is spoken by more than 100 million people as their acquired language while Spanish by a mere 1 million. Spanish is spoken by 330 million native speakers and 20 million secondary speakers worldwide while French has 80 million native speakers + 250 million secondary speakers in Africa + 200 million non-native speakers worldwide. YOU'RE A LIAR!

<< This list repersents languages of the past. A more useful list might be one for the languages of the future:
1. Chinese 2. Hindi 3. Arabic 4. Spanish (probably slowly declining ni relative importance) 5. English (still hanging on, but rapidly fading) 6. French (in the same boat as English) >> Shit! Spamish will never decline in international importance because it never reached that status.

North America: English & French Latin America: Portuguese>> Assuming for a minute that this is a "real" post, Mexico (and Central America, too) needs to be included either in North America or Latin America. If you include it in North America, Spanish would easily win out over French. If you include it in Latin America, Spanish would edge out Portuguese.
Better include Mexico in South America. With the mere 50 millions of Hispanics in US, Spanish is far more important that French. Only 6 millions of people speak French in Quebec.

French speakers in Canada is 10 million plus. English census made a lie by counting those native speakers of French with limited English knowledge as anglophone. Same case as when Celine Dion sung in English and the aweard that was given to her had a label of "English Singer" but she turned it down.
Anyways 10 millions is still 5 times less . I've read that Quebec's population remained stagnated for the last 5 years so the number of French speakers in North America can't grow very much. About Celine Dion, if she turned it down she should get back to Quebec and sing in French. I can't stand the typical hypocrisy of the French speakers like Celine Dion.

It won't stagnate because French Canadian couples still have children between 5-10. Low compared with >10 a few decades ago. The reason why Quebec's population does not increas that high it's because many Quebecans migrate to other Canadian areas like Northern Ontario, Northern Manitoba/Saskatchewan/Alberta. Here French is more widely spoken than English because of the métis. |
