There are exceptions like "temps" (the same than Latin tems , Italian tempo ) , but that final -s was artificially added to make French resemble Latin more. Nobody pronounces in French that s, and I doubt they even pronunce the "p". There are more words that prove my point, for example "chateau". Compare castellum( Latin)- castello - chateau.
