A concept of time

<<Now you distort my words. Not that any result should be expressed in the Present Perfect but rather a an action the result whereof seems actual and important to the speaker in some regard.>>

Your wordings here are bad enough, and don't need anyone to distort.

«Since tense is used to express Time, then tense is used to express part of meaning. Do you agree?»

Yes. And...

«Your wordings here are bad enough, and don't need anyone to distort.»

If don't understand just tell. If you want to correct me then do it.

My reply:
It is hard to accept that. You talked about 'while' with an example, but forgot to post the example. When I asked, you said I "fail".

Are you sure this is the way you want to discuss?

«Your wordings here are bad enough, and don't need anyone to distort.»

And why do you ignore the main subject? I have told you the word you distorted and what I actually meant.
Ant_222   Tue Jan 23, 2007 9:41 pm GMT
Yeah, "the word" -> "the words".

«But "current opinion" can also apply to SAID, as you agree here. What then is the difference?»

"SAID" means it was his current opinion yesterday, irregardless of today!

My reply:
You finally see that!!

I am not going to post that example every time I mention it. I am not you.

«You finally see that!!»

I have thought so since the very beginning.

It seems that I have even learned the Perfect Time from you.

Do you mean tense can do connection? I don't believe that. Would you tell me more about that?

Remember and please remember you have said this. Next time I will not repeat an example, just like you do.

Ironical here?

«My reply:

No, it's just that in a paragraph of sentences some tenses may BE connected. I didn't say they can DO something...

«Remember and please remember you have said this. Next time I will not repeat an example, just like you do.»

And will always clearly say what example you're talking about, just like I have done so far?

«<<I have thought so since the very beginning.>>

My reply:
I want to know if you have SAID so?»

Yes, I have. And I never said the opposite.

My reply:
When you said the following, where was your example?
<<The other Past Simple verbs are due to the "while". Therefore, they don't imply fire has ended.>>

Where is the example this time?
