Deutsch sprechen? Steig ein!
I'am asuming that the rules for posting a topic,are still the same from 'old' Antimoon,but to make this 'languages' side of Antimoon work you need to be able to post in other languages (Afterall its 'languages' and it would look stupid if every language was in English)
So,for all you Germanophones out there: Sprechen!
Thom I'm Afrikaans, and I'm gonna try and interpret that message, please help me out if I'm wrong.
Did you say your Mothertongue is English, and that you have asked, and asked and asked that Someone teach you Dutch. (Here I start to struggle), English is not .....................? (Don't know what nirgendwo is)
Is there someone here that has learned Dutch ........................ (Fremdsprache - Is it like to speak it fleuntly?) You had studied the language, but can't teach it to your children?
Sorry like I said, I'm not Dutch I'm Afrikaans, so if you could maybe translate the message, then maybe more will be able to help you ;)
Snipsa... not quite :)

(Does this help you out?Try again)
Thom,
Well,German isnt an easy language and certainly not the best choice for a English speaker for a number of reasons.But its certainly not the hardest one.Just keep on trying,like with most language there will be a moment where you suddenly can speak it,instead of just knowing vocabulary.And if you've studied it for 2 years ... well that moment should come soon.If you study it regularly.
Snipsa,
=>Ik houd van praten<=
Could be:
=>Ik praat/spreek graag<= as well.
Thanks Sander that helps a lot!
Man there's a massive difference between the "easyness" to read the two languages. I could understand most of your Dutch translation just had to look up to see what you meant by vreemde taal (foreign language)
But I thought about it and we'd also say kan jy 'n vreemde taal praat? Just didn't think about it at that time
Thanks a lot for the translation :)
Vielen Dank
Viele Gruße
Hi. I come from Slovenia and have learnt German for 4 years in school and now I've been reading books for teenagers for 3 years. I don't find German as difficult languages. I understand these books, but I don't speak German well, because i have nobody to communicate with... I'm looking for anybody to speak with me in German. :)
To speak with you or to write with you? :)
Don't be discouraged! German ain't easy. I went and lived there without knowing much more than Guten Tag, Danke, usw., and learned more than survival German. (Having a boyfriend helped a whole lot.)
That was xx years ago, though.
As for books, follow the Antimoon advice about reading something you're really, really interested in (if you can get your hands on it). Like to fix cars? Find a website that lists all the auto parts in German! Do you cook? Get yourself some recipes. Gardening? Fishing? Linguistics? If you are grounded in your subject you'll be amazed at how the vocab just seems to click so much better than any old children's book.
Oh, and about children's books - stick to Grimm. You already know the fairy tales, and that makes it so much easier.
Viel Glück!
You can choose - writing or speaking or both. Do you want my email?
Would'nt speaking be a bit hard?
Hehehe,I was aiming at the distance,you know,you're in Slovenia.
