French vs German vs Spanish? Difficulty & Usefulness?
boy am I glad I left this thing on while I was away.
again, Libelle...you dumb hoe bag,you didn't use the word Republican at all. you said representative....now what I am saying is that you act like a GOP asswipe know-it-all.
I love how you chose a quiz from "gurl.com" to try to prove a point.
GREAT JOB!
mabye next you can send us one from "Glamour" too? please?!?!???
Ok, now I'm done
Have fun reading seventeen magazine
you've made quite a few assumptions about me, which all turned out to be wrong. You've made MY point you Ann Coulter wanna be.
In fact....go suck her balls....I'm going to ASSUME you'd be up for it...
Wow, my dear Chris, sounds like we've got some teen angst going on. By the way, "angst" is a German word.
I KNOW that you meant "republican" as in GOP, even though you should have capitalized the R -- you are SO ignorant. I was talking about republic with a lowercase r -- you have NO IDEA what you are talking about. I was NOT referring to any political parties in the united states or elsewhere. When you get to Tulane you should take Introduction to Political Science if you're not too busy taking Bachelor of Science courses in stuff like Computers & Technology and Criminal Justice. In fact, I bet you're majoring in something like Criminal Justice and think your degree will actually mean something to people who care.
I never even heard of "gurl.com" -- I bet you didn't even read the synposes of the languages, did you?
And by the way, Mr. Teenage Angst Boy Wonder, what will you be majoring at Tulane? I'D LOVE TO KNOW. It sure as hell isn't going to be political science or philosophy.
Do you call everyone you disagree with "hoe bag" and "dumb bitch"? I bet you have a lot of friends.
You came in here with a totally rude, cocky attitude -- slamming anyone and everyone who disagreed with your ignorant Louisiana teenager opinions.
I would bet money that you're not majoring in ANYTHING even REMOTELY academic (i.e., liberal arts). And I further bet that whatever degree you are getting will have an S at the end of it rather than an A. For those of you in Chris's county, that's B.S. vs. B.A. How appropriate that your degree (provided that you even graduate from TULANE-- ha ha!) will be a B.S. degree.
I guess you must have taken Spanish -- why else would you defend it so much? Either that or you're Latino. If you're white and you took Spanish, you are even more pathetic than I thought. You're probably like the stupid white trash who says "Spanish is the easiest -- that's why I'm taking it, amigo!" Or worse yet, you're so ignorant that you didn't take ANY foreign language.
Can't wait to read your next überenlightening post!
Regards,
Libelle
I recommend that you will learn all three, as they are very nice and all interesting & useful. That different languages have a different character, history, culture and literature make it to be very fun and interesting. To compare them is a quite difficult thing. How can you compare diversity?
Specific: difficulty - each of them have their own difficulty and this will depend of your own mother tongue and way to learn.
usefulness: this depend of you!! They are all useful if you would like that they are.
OMG, Libel stop dissing me man. All I did was say that spanish is better... than german. By the way what do u regard as an academic subject? to be honest i'm going to major in mathematics, you dumb hoe, beat that.
omg, your the ignurant one. i'm luoisianan, so i must be smart.
Hey Chris, the people whom you talk with in Lousiiana were not French descent and besides they would not talk in school premises in French because thet still have the stigma.
I know that because my relatives still speak French at home and so witj most of their neighbor.
I'm just wonderin' if you're really from Lousiana or just pretending to be a residence of that state so that you have an excuse with your French bashing here. Why do you defend Spanish so much at the expense of other groups?
Chris, I can say that French is very much alive that French is alive and kickin' in Louisiana because of my lineage and I've beent there several times before.
Imagine 000000000 speakers in Lake Charles just becuase you're a Francophobe and a proponent of Spanish language. Nobody will believe you. Just admit that you are not really a Lousianian but a Francophobe.
I've been to New Mexico and Arizona and the Hispanic descents there no longer speak Spanish but English to each other.
Well ok i may not live there but Ive got friends who live their and i visit them on a regular basis. Therefore i think I'm qualified to say wether there is much french spoken there or not. They have french lineage also but speak english in the family.
Sam the total number of Native Spanish speakers in Europe is around 20 million not 105-110 Millions of speakers as you stated. The population of Spain is just below 30 million and there are 15 million speakers of Catalan, basque, Galician and Valencian in this country.
When are you gonna be realistic and accurate in what you're posting? I din't know that you're that exaggerated just to elevate the Spanish culture image.
Do you know what native speaker is? One can have two native languages. All people of Spain speak Spanish good, so as well as the regional language. Don't be niggardly.
I said:
Spain: 45 million of Spanish speakers. All of them speak Spanish as first or second language
USA: 42 million of Spanish speakers officially, more 12 m. of illegal latinos, more 6 m. of students, more 4 m. of people from Puerto Rico.
So, between USA AND EUROPE:
45+42+12+6+4: 111 MILLIONS OF SPANISH-SPEAKING POPULATION AS FIRST OR SECOND LANGUAGE. That´s true.
Yes. The number of speakers is not only the most important. But 111 millions of speakers in Europe and USA is also important ECONOMICALLY.
But not all have switched to English. There are still 400,000 who still speak the language natively and on the regular basis out of 900,000 cajuns but those who no longer speak French are relearning through immersion classes.
So don't you ever say that all abandoned the language. You know nothing of the whole situation and you even have the wishful thinking that it's the same in Canada.
To tell you honestly, Mexico is more likely to get anglicized than the French Americans. Why? Because people living along the US border speak English with perfect American accent. On the other hand French Canadians and Native French Speaking Cajuns speak English with a thick accent and they struggle to make their English grammatically correct.
The government of Mexico declared that business establishment with names with 's are no longer acceptable because obviously it's a threat to the Spanish language.
What the hell is going on in these forums?
What language should you learn? How about the one you enjoy or see yourself using in the future. What's all this mindless dribble about a language's superiority over another? There has never been a more absurd argument. Why do some of you go to extraordinary lengths to downplay or greatly exagerate the importance of a language? A true language lover understands that all languages have intrinsic worth... a true language lover would go ahead and LEARN ALL THREE LANGUAGES.
to Libelle- So we get it, you greatly dislike Spanish and have done a splendid job of making your self believe all Spanish speakers are a.) welfare recipients or b.) criminals (at least in the US). That's your personal opinion and it is respected.. but you being so intelligent and well read, don't you realize that as soon as you post something so incredibly naive and downright racist your entire argument goes down the drain, at least for the intelligent people reading your posts? If your intent was to promote German and French over Spanish, you did quite a piss poor job of it.
Warmest Regards,
Eye2Eye,
Hmm, Funny that both of my sons are watching DORA right this very minute. Hmmm...
Thanks for painting me a "racist." I was waiting for that clever gem to come out sooner or later -- that's the best: you're a "racist" if you state the FACTS that the Spanish language is most in demand in areas such as health care, social work, and corrections -- is that not a FACT in the United States, Eye2Eye? Did you graduate with a degree in foreign languages? Do you have ANY idea what you are talking about?
You have no idea how many people in this country can't stand the politically correct CRAP people like you love to spew.
At least Chris, ignorant though he may be, is entertaining. Your boring, predictable, and pathetic play of the race card is despicable.
Chris,
Eye2Eye is making you look better... ha ha
Anyway, why don't you just tell us all what axe you have to grind with French & German? What's the big deal? At least make your point. I live 20 minutes from the Canadian border and worked in a restaurant in college. Do you know how many times I had to get called from what I was doing to go translate at a table of Québecois people because they could barely speak English? Many, many times. French is not as dead as you think.
If you're really majoring in math, that is great, but why would anyone believe that if you admit that you lied about living in Louisiana?
