ROMANIAN the closest to CLASSICAL LATIN

Octavian   Tue Apr 04, 2006 10:51 pm GMT
Octavian, I advised you about the “openness” of this forum attracting teenage and underage trolls mainly from Latin America boycotting and insulting. Please ignore them. As for your reassurance, please note- there are still a hand full of intellectuals, sporadic visitors that still have a contribution to the language section. Please disregard the rest.

I know, but even the illeducated moderator degrades the Romanian language and Romanian history. I don't think that underage teenagers are the problem. There are many teenagers who are capable of expressing intelectualism (myself included).

But when the moderator (kendra) approaches controvercial topics without researching and analysing, thats when you know its bad. Some of these people don't even have mediocre knowledge of linguistics or history and continue to write insults and falsifications, trying to instigate and disclaim roman/dacian heritage in romania. Its really sad that these people have a think first, research later mentality. So, Im going to take your your advice and ignore these people, for it is not worth having intelectual conversations with non-intelectuals.

Does anybody in their right mind really believe that Romanian is more beautiful than Italian? Absolutely NOT! I guarantee you, that if people in any country, on any continent, were to hear both Italian and Romanian spoken, at least 95% of the people would say that Italian is more beautiful and pleasing to the ear than Romanian.

This is obviously a blunt opinion and a subjective statement. But if you are really concerned about popular opnion on which language sounds better, Italian or Romanian. Run a google search on this topic and find out.

Also read my earlier posts to find out why romanian is closest to classical latin grammatically.

I think that some "Romanians" on here just like the attention and like to flood antimoon with unvalidated points. (in other words) they like to pick fights against all of us, who contradict what they say; what does that tell you? Well, if you ask me they're perhaps disappointed with themselves and probably know the facts but just keep on rambling on about non-sense. Come on now? Give it a break....

Augustin is perhaps the only -realist- on here and demostrates that there's hope for Romanians. I can't speak for all, but it seems like they
have an hidden agenda and like to provoke people.
Georgero   Wed Apr 05, 2006 7:04 am GMT
LOL... That's kinda true. Romanians like to argue maybe even more than Italians do. The pitty is that some people really take it too seriously.

>This anti-moon forum is not about which language is closer to Classical Latin. It is about which language(s) are more beautiful and pleasing to the ear compared to others.<

Ha ha ha ! I dont think so my dear troll. Here on antimoon we are debating LINGUISTIC matters not EUPHONIC (pleasantness or agreeableness of sounds) matters.

And who the hell are you Joana Benedek and “a.p.a.m.” ? I’ve never seen you here before, are you one of those transsexual trolls that like to change their gender ? Do you think by posting a full name, your more plausible ? Cut it out you troll !

>at least 95% of the people would say that Italian is more beautiful and pleasing to the ear than Romanian<

You pathetic troll, first of all, people that never heard Romanian, can't even make a difference between Italian and Romanian. And I wrote this for about 3 times:

People abroad that heard me speaking Romanian on my mobile, including some Brazilians from France (Romance speakers !!!) automatically presumed that I was speaking Sicilian. “Ele fala Italiano com sotaque Siciliano “ (He speaks Italian with a Sicilian accent ) ha ha ha ! I don’t think so !

>Are some people more beautiful and physically attractive than others?<

It’s just a matter of taste you troll.

Some men like Blond women
Some men like Brunet women
Some men like Men and some men are trolls. (like you)

If you like chubby fatty blonds or short petite Asian women. Don’t tell us they are the most beautiful.

De gustibus, non disputandum est !

Sorin needs to relax. she/he or it (is) becoming an DICTATOR of "Anti-moon."
Sorin   Wed Apr 05, 2006 11:50 am GMT
Joana Benedek = an old troll ( those transsexual trolls that like to change their gender and their nickname) LOL

Next time try some

Olga Dombrowsky or Svetlana Kovaleva ! HA HA HA !

Alright Sorin, let me teach you an old saying, there are two types of ppl in this world Italians and ppl who want to be Italians. Now I've always used this line as joke. Like with my Spanish friends and Black friends. And that all it was a joke. Nothing serious, and then they'd take their shots at me about the moores and Spain control over southern Italy. And it was cool we always laughed about. But i think ppl like you are the insperation behind this old saying. But listen if you want to be italian than just move there learn the language, the customs, and if your not know than become Catholic. And even thoe you may never truly be Italian you could marry an Italian gril and your childern will be Italian. Then you will have somthing to be proud of.
Georgero   Wed Apr 05, 2006 5:11 pm GMT
@Frontera
Is this some kind of a joke or what??? Romanians don't need to learn Italian. :-). Most of them understand Italian without the need of learning it. And even if a decent Romanian never heard it before, he will still be able to understand over 70% of Italian.
I'm not sure about customs. Maybe you can present us some. But I guess Romanians may share those too. And about religion, I dunno what to say... Romanian faith is indeed to be Orthodox, but some of them are Catholics and is nothing wrong with that.
But I can assure that 99% of Romanians don't want to be anything else than Romanians and they have huge proud about that, even if sometimes is unjustified.
So, I guess you really picked up the wrong guys.
Frontera   Wed Apr 05, 2006 5:20 pm GMT
No, I am going to have to diagree with you. All this guy Sorin ever talks about is howe great Romainans are, how they're the best, and the Romainans and the french are the only true Roman decendents. But keep in mind my coments were not directed towards you any Romainan just Sorin. From his coments in the past leads me to belive that all he wants is to be Italian. He thinks that he does nothing but come here insult their heritage and but in reality all he does is disgrace his own ppl!
Georgero   Wed Apr 05, 2006 5:49 pm GMT
Well! I dunno what to say! i guess he just wants to see how other people reacts. I don't think he really wants to insult anyone. But anyway, I don't wanna become his lawyer. He may speak for himself...

Written italian ok, 70 %
Spoken italian, far and far less, believe me. Unless it is calabrese or sicilianu, then theyt will understand a good 80% of what is being said
Frontera   Wed Apr 05, 2006 6:04 pm GMT
S.P.Q.R are you from Calabria? I know I have asked you before but I wasn't sure if you had seen the post.
Georgero   Wed Apr 05, 2006 6:08 pm GMT
I didn't wanna make it look like I'm exagerating.
I'm even wondering if it wouldn't be easier for a Romanian to understand Napoletan dialect than literary Latin. I'm sure just a few Romanians ever heard that.
And about written language, there is much easier to read Italian text. You just have to replace zz with ţ, sci with ş and that's all. "Ci", "chi" and "che" are identical. No problem with that at all. Very easy to read too.
The other way arround is, indeed, a bit more complicated. Romanians have a few extra letters. And the accent is a bit harsh to learn, also.
