Sorin,

Romanians are Gypsies. Lost their ROMAN heritage for more than an millenia and RECENTLY obtained it (19th century) due to Italian & France with their guidance it lead to Romania's replenishing of Roman custom/language/ways of life etc. Romanian's are newbie's. And they call themselves conseratives in all aspects. hah, popy-cock.

Sorin,

Romanian doesn't even LOOK (syntax) like Classical latin. The only thing latin about it, tis it's declension. That Albanian also has. So tell me why HASN'T Albanian (the language) changed or modified it's language to Latin? Because they're more wiser and aren't followers like Romanians tend to be. I wouldn't thought that Romanians to in ORDER to -replenish- their language they had to "add" some classical latin words, but even so....they're chopped up or in fragments. Something that the other Romance languages would never do or would've done. Ever.

Sorin is just incompetent to comprehend. a.k.a psycologically impaired to reason.

ALL ITALIANS ARE GYPSIES. THEY DONT DESCEND FROM THE ROMANS THEY ARE A NATION OF DARK SKINNED GYPSIES.

not exactly. They are more a inbreed of african arabs and white people. How Roman is that? I understand that not all Italians are are dark skinned but the ones that live in palermo and southern Italy definatly are. Italians are not Roman. Therefore most Italians are not Roman. THis is not an insult this is fact.

Guest =sorin.

Plain and Simple. If not leave a name, or let me guess your scared to say your Sorin or whatever? Why would anybody back up "Sorin" she's as dumb as dummy can be.

Italians are in fact a blend of ethnic groups; just like many countries.

Romanians are too mixed, inmigration levels in and around romania are moderately high. Every country in the world is and has MIX races within itself. There's an difference BETWEEN "national" origin, which much people are. I bet you 'sorin' have an "russian" grandmother or something? huh? It just goes to demostrate, that even in the so-called conversative land romania...there's tons of inmigration; and let's not forget (that the vast majority of the young-adolescent present in romania are seeking refuge elsewhere). Let's not forget the Gypsies in Romania as well are fleeing to the western hemosphere.

True. I'll just ignore SILLY lil sorin. Let's all avoid her and her 'alter egos' here..here..I

Why would I be scared of you? Your not going to kill me are you?
But seriously, Kendra, does your ignorance and hypocracy have no bounds? Your right, this is a LANGUAGE forum, so whats this:

>>>Romanians are too mixed, inmigration levels in and around romania are moderately high. Every country in the world is and has MIX races within itself. There's an difference BETWEEN "national" origin, which much people are. I bet you 'sorin' have an "russian" grandmother or something? huh? Seems to me that your are avoiding the language topic preffering the cess pool of ethnicity. If I have to remind the moderator of her job I will. But since your atypical interest in my origin cannot escape your thoughts, know this: all of my family is Romanian, all except for my grandmother whom is half Italian. So in some respect you are right, ALL countries are somewhat of an ethnical mix. Nevertheless, the fact that Romanians or Italians has are ethnically mixed shouldn't even come into question. Because, A, it has nothing to do with the fact that Romanian is closest language to classical latin, and, B, all formarly Roman countries be it Romania, Italy , France , Spain or Portugal cannot claim their Roman heritage is greater or smaller than the other because, ethnically, (as you say) we are all mixed. But linguistics is a different matter isn't it?
If you haven't realised already, Romania is part of the western hemosphere as are all european countries. Because it is a western civilization as are all european countries. Dont confuse economy and geography with culture. As for the gypsies, name me a European country that doesn't have gypsies, which migrate all over Europe. What? you think Italy and Spain is the only country with gypsy problems?

And I think that you are trully ignorant, maybe this sounds femine in Italian or spanish or portuguese or whatever, because there is no "o" ending but Sorin is masculine. Its not Sorin(a) its Sori(n) masculine. BTW I am not Sorin. I am Octavian, check my IP adress if you find this incredible.

Salve.

Le roumain est évidemment une langue latine.
Ruben   Fri Mar 31, 2006 7:11 am GMT
Romanian is just another excuse for an esperanto like Latin-derived language; like Brennus mentioned before.

Hi, all.

I am glad that the persons who are posting the
-poems- I've referenced off "classical latin" were translated in their native tongue; and I have to thank S.P.Q.R & augustin717 for the Italian and Romanian translation. I can't speak for the others who have 'misleaded' my original post, I guess it's what you make it or some people cannot grasp the context. Nevertheless, I and others would like to see those poems translated in Portuguese & French if possible. Gratias ago,

P.s.
