Does Russian sounds like Portuguese?

They cry because they are aware of how backward their country is in relation to Spain.
Do you see the Spanish politicans and the mass media talking about Portugal? What was the last new in Spanish mass media about Portugal? On the other hand the Portuguese politicians and media are all the time discussing on Spanish affairs. The last one was the AVE high speed railway. If I'm not mistaken there are now few weirdos in Portugal who oppose this project because according to them to be connected with Spain through high speed railways is the first step towards its annexation by Spain. LOL, i still remember how much I laughed when I read this. The Portuguese woman said it like if we needed the Portuguese when in reality we have in Spain already too much romanians and gipsies. Why on earth we would like more scum from Portugal? If the high speed railway will benefit someone, its the Portuguese more than the Spanish because they have now better communications with a bigger market and also the rest of Europe.

DISGUSTING RUBBISH
Joao   Mon Sep 14, 2009 11:15 pm GMT
No other choice but putting off topic posts. Spain keeps bribing all the Portuguese political class so as to keep Portugal under their interests. THE AVE, or whatever it is, IS UNSUSTAINABLE FOR A MARITIME COUNTRY LIKE PORTUGAL.
Everybody knows it, but the successive Portuguese governments keep standing for the high speed because they are bribed by Spain, by the EU and by Bombardier.
If you want to have better connections between Spain and Portugal, why did you dismantle the Douro line, aka, the rail link between Oporto and Spain in 1985? Why did you dismantle the rail between Ayamonte and Huelva? Lots of tourists visiting both the Algarve, Portugal and Andalucia, Spain, keep asking about a direct rail link. It doesn't exist because you guys dismantled it in your Spanish side! Why did you make a protected reservation area between Cadiz and Huelva? Wasn't it to cut connections between Portugal and Morocco?

Now you keep pushing for years for high speed trains between Lisbon and Madrid. So, that all the communications between Portugal and other European countries and regions has to pass through Madrid! Isn't there already a motorway, an overnight train, plus 3 plane lines, including a low cost one? Isn't that more than sufficient?

Who's going to pay for the extraordinary cost in electricity for running the AVE? Portugal?

We do not need it! How many times do I need to put this in your creepy head? No necessitamos! Vale? Te queda ai en Espana y larganos, vale?

You are the ones that come up bullying, arrassing, slandering. You must be really frustrated in your sorry life, isn't it? Are you a lobbyist for high speed trains? he he he

Why was the Madrid-Lisbon path chosen for the AVE railway? Easy, because it's the shortest path between Lisbon and the French border. It's a geographic fact. The rest are rantings based on envy and die-hard Portuguese nationalism so I will not take the time to answer them. I don't waste my time with Portugueses, not at least with ones like you. Fortunately now Portugal is ruled by a Government that understands it's better for Portugal to collaborate with their Castilian masters and accept their plans to build a better future for both. Adiós.

We're talking about accents, and we're not asking which accent or country or whatever prospects is better...

No, it isn't, liar. The shortest phath is between the old route Salamanva, Valladolid, Burgos, Basque coutry. Anyway creep, we do not need wasteful high speed trains. It's giving money for a company based in a country that doesn't even have it, Canada. They bribe everybody.

You're just talking about yourself. STOP doing spam. You are the ones who continue arrassing all the time with lies and off-topic issues. GO AWAY! GO BACK TO SPAIN! WE DO NOT NEED YOU!

Will we have to kick you out again by force? We did that in the past several times.

to Joao:

Is it true that Portuguese from Central Portugal have final obstruent devoicing?

I tend to hear final -dade as -dat.

If this is so, I'm sure it shares feature with Catalan and to a lesser extent, numerous Slavonic languages.

I have list for those languages which does this feature:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_obstruent_devoicing

Shouldn't European Portuguese be on the list?

It's more "dad" than "dat", I think. This is very difficult to detect in our own language, anyway.

Cool, a Spanish sending a message in Portuguese, saying that there are Spaniards who really love Portugal.
Of course there is, as well as there are Portuguese who really like Spain. In every country there are lots of different peoples.
I personally find many Spanish quite accessible people.
The only problem is that, for Spain, anexing Portugal has always been a long term goal. They've never stopped dreaming about that.
Nowadays, with the help of the EU, they try to strangle the Portuguese economy, so that the Portuguese feel disapointed and start willing to be part of Spain.
Having useless AVE trains (we already have high speed pendolino trains in Portugal) is one of the tricks. Heavily lobbying for having the new Lisbon's airport in a wrong location is another trick.
Using the EU to ban Portugal from producing anything is another trick.

Portugal is poor just like Slovakia, Spain is rich just like Germany:

Os portugas, a gente chama eles de burros....
Tá na cara, não passam de um baita cu da periferia da Europa

I personally don't think there's any need of annexing or making a whole Iberian country but if that would be the case, I wouldn't really mind hehe. I love Portugal and the Portuguese people but I think everybody should maintain their ideosincracy. These two countries share a lot of things but they also have quite different cultures which should be preserved. And I'm not gonna say that Portugal is as rich as Spain cause it's not but it's not poor either. Wealth is not just a matter of money and economics, it's also about culture and, on this matter, Portugal can't be richer
